SYNC ARCHITECTURE

Why Direct API Connections Fail

Most sheets integration plugins execute a direct API request to Google the moment a user clicks submit. If Google's API responds slowly, your visitor is stuck waiting. If Google's API is down or returns a rate limit block (429), the submission fails, and the data is lost forever.

WP GSheet fixes this by utilizing a local queue model. Submissions are instantly saved in your database and returned with a success message. A background task handles the actual sync to Google Sheets silently, ensuring no lost entries.

Direct Sync vs. WP GSheet Asynchronous Sync

Direct Connections (Standard Plugins)

Directly waits for API response. High latency, potential timeouts, and instant loss of entries on Google API connection drops.

Asynchronous Connections (WP GSheet)

Saves locally first and schedules background delivery. Non-blocking, zero wait times, and guarantees entry persistence.

Key Features

Every feature is fully active and accessible for unlimited configurations.

Non-Blocking Queue

Submissions process locally in milliseconds, letting your site visitors submit forms instantly without waiting on Google Sheet response times.

Automatic Retry Engine

Retries failed payloads at progressive backoffs (1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 6h). Keeps retrying until Google acknowledges receipt or attempts are exhausted.

Credential Encryption

Encrypts credentials stored inside the database using secure Libsodium or OpenSSL AES-256-GCM keys.

CSV Injection Shield

Scans spreadsheet inputs and prepends a single quote to force raw text interpretation, preventing formula injection attacks.

Header Autodetection

Detects the first row header labels in your active worksheet to automatically map incoming fields to matching columns.

Multi-Account Linking

Link multiple named Google connections. Choose separate destination accounts for different forms.

Open Source & Free

Free Forever. No Paywalls.

Many Google Sheets plugins limit the number of submissions you can send, charge monthly subscriptions, or lock custom field mapping behind premium license keys. WP GSheet is open source, licensed under GPL, and fully functional out-of-the-box. Enjoy unlimited form connections and submissions completely free.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the plugin really free forever?

Yes, absolutely. The plugin is 100% free and open-source under the GPL license. There are no limits on submissions, no premium upgrade prompts, and no features hidden behind license keys.

Does this plugin collect or share my submission data?

No. Respecting your privacy is a core principle. All form submission data and access tokens are stored locally on your own WordPress hosting database. We do not track, collect, or store any data on external servers.

How does the One-Click connection work?

Our hosted helper proxy acts as a secure intermediary during authorization. Google sends the login token to our proxy, which redirects it back to your site callback. The proxy never saves your tokens.

Can I use my own Google Developer Console App instead?

Yes! If you prefer not to use our One-Click proxy, simply expand the "Advanced Options" block in Step 1 of the Setup Wizard. Save your custom Client ID and Client Secret, and you can authorize directly.
